Plain language, because the people using this are club treasurers and parents.

What Fund The Club is

A club lists the print spots on a kit it is really making. Businesses and people bid on those spots. Fund The Club is the merchant of record on every charge, holds the money, and releases it to the club only after the club proves the kit was printed.

How bidding works

Bidding is second price. You enter the most you are willing to pay. The price moves to one increment above the next highest bidder, never straight to your maximum. You can win for less than you entered. You never pay more than you entered.

The increment scales with the price: $5 under $100, $10 under $250, $25 under $1,000, and $50 above that. A club may set its own increment for its kit.

If a bid lands in the last 5 minutes, the clock extends by 5 minutes. This repeats. An auction ends when 5 quiet minutes have passed, so a late bid cannot steal a spot on the bell.

There is no deposit. There is a hold.

Placing a bid costs nothing and charges nothing.

About 24 hours before an auction closes, we place an authorization hold on the card of every bidder still in contention. A hold is not a charge. It reserves the amount with your bank and shows on your statement as pending.

The hold is the current price plus 3 increments, and never more than the maximum you entered. It is sized to cover a few more rounds of bidding, not to reserve your whole maximum.

When the auction ends, the hold on the winner is captured at the settled price, which may be lower than the hold. Every other hold is released. If a capture fails, the spot passes to the next bidder down.

Logo approval

The club approves every logo before it is printed. If a club rejects your logo, you are refunded in full, including card fees.

Proof

The club has 90 days from the end of the auction to upload photos of the finished jerseys with the winning logos actually printed on them, not mockups, plus a receipt or invoice showing the quantity made. The receipt must cover at least the number of jerseys stated on the listing.

A club may request one extension of 90 days, for a maximum of 180 days.

Until proof is accepted, the club receives $0.

Payouts

After proof is accepted, the club is paid 90% of the net collected after card processing fees, and Fund The Club keeps 10% of that same net.

A $100.00 bid carries about $3.20 in card fees, which leaves $96.80 net: the club receives $87.12 and Fund The Club keeps $9.68.

Refunds

If proof is missed or rejected, every winning bidder is refunded what they paid minus the original card processing fees. Those fees are already spent and cannot be recovered. Fund The Club forfeits its share and the club receives nothing.

A rejected logo is refunded in full, card fees included. That is the one case where nobody absorbs the fee but us.

Featured listings

An optional $100.00 feature pin is offered on the create form. It is charged upfront and the listing publishes as featured only after payment clears. It is not refundable once the listing is live.

Example listings

Some kits on this site are marked as examples. They exist to show what a real board looks like. Bidding on them is blocked in code. They are never real auctions and no money moves.

Disputes and chargebacks

Fund The Club is the merchant of record, so a card dispute is raised against us and we respond to it. If you have a problem with a kit, contact us before your bank. We can usually fix it faster.
